Copied from another site

I had the great pleasure of looking after Gordon for the weekend. I have heard the saying “good things come in small packages” so many times but it has never been more true than about Gordon.

He looks like a normal GSD but in a smaller form factor. Behaviour wise, he is exactly like one of my old GSDs who was bred to be a working dog. We became best friends almost instantly and he had so much love and trust for me it was amazing.

He is food oriented and so training seemed easy work with him. Completely house trained and also good at sit and recall already, we started working on shake paws and lay down. He also responds well to corrective behaviour, be that when I had to shout “No” at him as he was about to chase a fly in to my guitars (he stopped instantly so no harm came to my guitars or him, and he even came straight to me to say sorry) or with a short sharp tug on the lead when walking. On walkies he was good as gold, mostly interested in sniffing and marking things, but when he runs, god he’s quick.

Even though he is slightly smaller in size, he is still a weighty chunk, strong and a very solid dog.
Like my previous GSDs, he’s also a lap dog who loves cuddles and doesn’t seem to realise how big he is.

In the short time we had together we had really bonded well and we were both sad when I dropped him back with John.

Gordon would make someone a wonderful pet. I would love to have him but I am currently recovering from an operation and may need a further op very soon so currently I can’t have a dog right now which is kind of heart-breaking.
